This Mustang 2 S was redesigned by Bob Bushby for Andy Kramer ,a professional engineer and machine shop owner who built it along with aluminum 1400 floats.
The wings are 4 feet longer at the mid section and the fuselage 18 inches longer and the enpennage is reproportionned according to aviation engineering practices.
Span: 28 feet —– Lenght 20 .4” . Built to + 12 G’ s
The longer wings and fuselage make this special Mustang much more forgiving , stable and easier to fly.Longer span ailerons keep them effective into the stall.

Fuselage stringers spaced closer together,
Thorp T-18 canopy features a thicker windshield support tube.
A cabin crossbrace.
A sharp trailing edge with a machined profile
External rear spar to fuselage support braces.
Float attachment modifications.
Water rudder retraction lever.
Modifications for routing water rudder cables.(pulleys ,guards, teflon rubbing blocks etc.)
Larger elevator trim surface.
Flap span increased by 4 feet.

You will be convinced that low wing floatplanes are safer because of their lower center of gravity and absence of nose over tendency.
The 1400 floats were a bit small and were removed and sold and the aircraft flown on wheels since.
