C-FVKP is a privately owned 1967 Cessna 172H with approximately 2,750 hours
total time and the smooth Continental O-300-C six-cylinder engine. It is a simple,
honest, low time aircraft with good ramp presence, straightforward systems, and the
maintainable configuration that makes older 172s so appealing.
The aircraft has complete logbooks from the 1967 factory test flight to present.
It has been actively flown throughout its history, with no inactive years recorded in
the logs.
This aircraft would suit someone looking for a practical VFR time builder, an
economical first aircraft, a cottage or local flying machine, or a solid classic Cessna
to improve over time. It’s not being represented as a glass panel aircraft or
showpiece. It is a clean, usable, privately owned Cessna with good
fundamentals. It has never been in a flying school.
The aircraft has been hangared, treated with CorrosionX in 2013, and maintained
with ACF-50 treatments since. Following hail damage in 1998, the aircraft received
extensive new wing skins, with replacement panels treated with zinc
chromate. It was subsequently repainted in 1999 in its current blue and white
scheme.
Equipment includes a Kannad 406 ELT, Insight G2 engine monitor, MX300 radio,
and Mode C transponder. Transponder calibration and pitot static test are currently
overdue, depending on intended use.
The engine has approximately 970 hours since overhaul. The engine was top overhauled in September 2017
with new Superior cylinders. Since overhaul, it has had a new oil sump installed, new baffling, new battery and slick mag upgrade.
